Hi all — I’m looking for 2 maintainers/contributors (ideally 1 Node repo and 1 Python repo) who are willing to try a small assisted private alpha of a GitHub Action I’m building.

What it does

It analyzes GitHub Actions cache behavior and flags likely regressions in PRs (for example cache key churn / hit-rate drops), then posts a PR comment + job summary that explains what changed and what to check.

Why I’m posting here

I’m not looking to “launch” broadly yet. I’m trying to validate:

• install/setup friction (for someone who didn’t build it)
• whether the warnings are easy to understand
• whether the output is useful enough to keep enabled

Pilot format (assisted)

This is an assisted private alpha (not public/self-serve yet).

I provide a small pilot bundle (action + workflow snippet + rollback instructions), and I help with setup.

Expected time

• 10–15 min setup
• baseline builds asynchronously (a few normal runs)
• ~5 min follow-up for a controlled “bad cache key” test + feedback

Safety / scope

• No third-party backend / no SaaS account needed
• It runs in GitHub Actions and uses the repo’s GITHUB_TOKEN
• It reads workflow/job/cache-related run data and can post a PR comment + job summary
• Easy rollback (remove the workflow / action step)

What I need from you

A repo that uses GitHub Actions and cache (Node or Python preferred), plus willingness to try:

1. a normal baseline run (or a few)
2. one controlled PR test
3. quick feedback on signal quality / noise / setup friction

What I’m specifically trying to learn

• Would you keep this enabled?
• Did the warnings make sense?
• Did anything feel noisy or confusing?
• Did setup require manual tuning?
